Job Description

Job Purpose The purpose of this role is to support the Legal Department in relation to various pieces of work, projects, initiatives and processes. The Legal Department supports a wide range of areas within the London organisation, including in particular ICE Futures Europe (a recognised investment exchange) and ICE Clear Europe Limited (a recognised clearing house and central counterparty). Work would be varied including Rules queries and drafting, contractual arrangements, licensing structures, product launches, regulatory analysis and support, and providing assistance to the Regulatory, Membership, Finance, HR and product development areas. Responsibilities * To perform various administrative and legal tasks, including negotiation, drafting, processing, research and business support in a UK and cross-jurisdictional context * To participate in various projects and build organisational knowledge Knowledge and Experience * English (or equivalent) qualified lawyer; can be with overseas experience * General legal knowledge which includes knowledge of English and EU commercial, corporate and financial law and regulation. Deeper knowledge of regulation that specifically touches exchange trading and clearing like MiFID, EMIR and REMIT is considered an advantage * Experience and sufficient legal knowledge to make decisions independently with a 'can do' attitude * Strong personality who can work independently as well as part of a team, and take ownership of issues * Good attitude and willingness to learn and work with a variety of teams * Experience in banking/finance/treasury is desirable * Experience in the listed derivatives industry (including commodities, financial and credit) and trading is desirable * Experience of working in-house in a highly regulated environment is desirable Additional Information * Job Type: Standard * Schedule: Full-time
