Job Description

British Vogue is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable fashion and beauty journalist to work on expanding and optimising British Vogue's product reviews and e-commerce content. This role will be responsible for driving rapid growth in the increasingly important affiliate marketing channel at British Vogue. The Commerce Writer will be expected to produce content with a focus on metrics that drive revenue, such as Click Through Rate, Conversion Rate, Average Order Value and Commission Rate (CPA). Familiarity with key success drivers in affiliate marketing, and previous experience in creating commerce content which has driven meaningful revenue, are both highly desirable. Ultimately, the successful candidate will need to bring products to life for British Vogue's digital audience: what's worth buying and why. The successful candidate will be organised, have a strong eye for detail and be up-to-speed on all the latest developments in the fashion and beauty industries - trends, news, retail landscape and product launches across all categories. A clear passion and enthusiasm for the British Vogue brand is a must. The candidate will be responsible for writing, commissioning and editing new product guides, reviews and round-ups - while ensuring that British Vogue's archive of product-related content is up-to-date and optimised for e-commerce content best practice. You will need to compile and present regular reports, insight and analysis of e-commerce progress - a great head for statistics is required. This is a rare opportunity to join the world's biggest fashion title, at the heart of its digital expansion. * Work with the editorial team to cover major product launches and annual shopping events * Generate ideas for promoting commerce content on social media, email newsletters and beyond * Commission and / or write product reviews and curated collections when necessary * Work with our Audience Growth team to monitor and increase revenue from the existing back catalogue of content on Vogue.co.uk. This will be both improving on-page conversion, as well as editing and updating evergreen content to maintain long-term Search rank * Contribute to regular content planning meetings to both provide conversion-informed insight to the work of the team, and pitch retail-focused original topics * Produce and present reports, analysis and insights on a daily / weekly basis * Organised, methodical approach to work, and collaborative mindset and flair for working with individuals across different departments * Ability to write clean, authentic, engaging copy at speed, without resorting to marketing jargon * Demonstrable knowledge of the core mechanics of consumer affiliate marketing * Demonstrable knowledge of core SEO principles and best practice * Strong and expansive knowledge of fashion and beauty products across all categories and price points * Experience in fashion and beauty journalism with affiliate marketing
