The role The Paralegal will be a performance driven individual who is expected to support the creation and ongoing maintenance of products and services including content development. We build world class services for our customers and it is vital that our products and services are delivered with quality and accuracy. Working for the Head of Legal, you will help provide legal advice to clients, assist with the running of and help develop Rocket Lawyer's legal advice practice, and create legal documents and guidance and prepare them for implementation onto our technical platform. You will also help with marketing, customer advice and product management to help define Rocket Lawyer's UK product and service offerings. What you will do * Administer the Rocket Lawyer UK law firm, to ensure we are delivering legal advice effectively and efficiently, including triaging questions, lawyer and paralegal allocation, invoicing, client onboarding, KYC (Know Your Client) checks, matter setup and processing, client & lawyer satisfaction surveying, incident management, and business reporting. * Carrying out research to help define, develop or maintain our content or products and service offerings. * Assist with answering legal questions and providing legal advice to Rocket Lawyer customers. * Drafting legal marketing content, whether for products and services, guidance, articles or other material, as required. * Building clearly articulated, easy to use and understand decision flows that help make sense of how legal documents are constructed for customer use. * Creating and constructing simple interviews to enable our customers to create custom legal documents and letters. * Correctly interpreting legal documents and creating and building easy to use and understand decision flows that help make sense of how legal documents are constructed for customer use. * Maintaining awareness of continuous content development of our products and services * Defining and documenting all processes that you undertake, along with performance metrics and ownership to enable transparent understanding of how the Paralegal function operates * Proactively taking responsibility for self improvement by staying well-informed of developments, knowledge and innovations that affect both the Legal sector and our business * Proactively identifying areas of personal improvement, and work with the Senior Paralegal to strengthen your skills and agree a defined training plan. What you should have * highly proficient at legal research and content authoring * an upper Second Class-Honours in Law, or Graduate Diploma in Law * a post-graduate Diploma in Legal Practice * excellent research skills * an understanding of case law, legislation and on-going legal changes * familiarity with legal contracts and how they work Characteristics * Meticulous * Organised * Natural problem solver * Team player Desirable * have experience working in a law firm * have previously worked with automation software * have worked in a startup environment Business knowledge You must have a strong awareness of the legal market so that you are able to both act upon and remain informed about changes in the law that will affect our business. Exposure to the SME sector, startups, existing small businesses and individual consumers is highly desirable. You should have the nous and the ability to work across all levels of the organisation (including the executive management team, marketing, product management, engineering, sales, and finance) and provide support as needed. Coronavirus (Covid-19) We are still hiring, despite coronavirus, and this role will start remote, but will move to Shoreditch as and when it is safe to do so.
