Role Purpose: The Claims Analyst will be accountable for providing claims portfolio analysis and trending including the following:- Monitoring and investigating claims performance on portfolios not performing to plan. Analysis and trending on lead and non-lead accounts. Analysis and trending by method of placement (MOP) including Open Market, Delegated Authority etc. Analysis and trending on industries and sectors. Source, analyse, contrast and compare third party data from Lloyd's, LMA, IUA and other external sources to Everest internal claims data. The individual will work closely with the claims team with the reviews, output and reports being shared with actuarial, underwriting teams, senior leadership and boards/committees. Key Accountabilities: Providing analysis and insight as to the causes why specific books of business written by the Global Markets Division are not performing to plan. Provide portfolio segmentation, trending analysis and insight by lead/follow, MOP, industry and sector codes to identify and inform claims reserving, actuarial reserving, rating tools, strategy & business planning, senior management and boards/committees. Source, analyse, contract and compare third party data from Lloyd's, LMA, IUA and other external sources to Everest internal claims data to improve claims reserving, actuarial reserving, rating tools, strategy & business planning. Attending meetings with underwriters, claims and actuarial to present findings and recommendations. Attention to detail and the ability to manage and manipulate large volumes of data looking for those cases that are, or could, drive the loss ratio. Working closely with the claims team in identifying areas of concern and analysing the underlying data and reporting findings. Having a key involvement with the actuarial team in providing information and insight as part of the quarterly and year-end reserving process and the ongoing development of rating tools. Develop a score chart to assess the performance of the leads we follow as regards their claims practices. Work with the Business Intelligence team on the design of the claims reports, dashboards and management information from the Data Warehouse evidencing portfolio & performance patterns for presentation to senior leadership, boards and committees. Monitoring of claims performance against planned Loss Ratios and investigating deteriorating trends Skills & Competencies: Fully familiar with the Claims Processes in Lloyd's and London having had prior adjusting experience specifically on binding authority business Ability to probe and interrogate the data looking for trends and patterns as to what is driving the loss ratios Superior verbal and written communication skills - the ability to deliver or present to all audiences from senior leadership, individual underwriters, underwriting and reserve meetings. Collaborative approach - a proven team player with the capacity to work with peers in the business to achieve better results and outcomes Performance characteristics - a high achiever with a passion for results and the ability to deliver quality report against tight deadlines. A tenacious work ethic with a focus on detail with the ability to filter large volumes of data looking for the key cases or trends driving the performance and then working with the claims team to review the claims file to pick out the key information. Professional Experience: Experience and knowledge of all Lloyd's & London market claims processes together with companies market experience An understanding of the Lloyd's Claims Minimum Standards and experience of their application Past experience in analysing claims tends and reporting Past claims adjusting experience and familiarity with Lloyd's V5.1 bordereaux Ideally CII or CIP qualified or working towards.
