Line of Service Advisory Industry/Sector Not Applicable Specialism Valuation Management Level Manager Job Description & Summary The Insurance Claims Services group is part of PwC's Deals Practice, and provides financial and economic analysis for insurers, claimants and their counsel involved in litigation, arbitration, or mediation. Our professionals investigate and analyze the issues, quantify losses and provide credible expert testimony. We effectively communicate our findings, working with our clients to make intelligent, informed decisions whether in the boardroom or in the court room. We have extensive experience in both claim preparation (on behalf of insured individuals or businesses) and in claim review (on behalf of the insurer). We provide a balanced quantification, based on reasonable assumptions and sound financial analysis. Some of the claims or investigations with which we have been involved include: Business Interruption losses; Assessment of the existence and valuation of inventory; Economic loss quantification in liability claims, including product liability; Personal injury tort claims for economic loss; and Quantification of Income Replacement Benefit entitlement. As a Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to: * Consultation with clients, clients' counsel and representatives of insurance companies; * Participate in business development activities and educational seminars; * Provide detailed analysis of accounting records and other personal and corporate financial information; * Present analysis and research using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and the Internet; * Assist in the preparation and presentation of loss quantification reports and/or loss review (critique) to lawyers (both plaintiff and defense counsel) and/or insurance adjusters/claims managers; and * Manage and mentor Associates and Senior Associates on the team. Requirements: Your role will initially be focused on insurance claim quantification. Want to put your talents to work? Here's what we look for: * 5 years' experience working in an insurance claims advisory role * Successful completion of a finance or accounting related Undergraduate Degree / College Diploma and Completion of an Accounting designation, an asset * Proven ability and success in Business Development, and market presence is required * Provide hands-on leadership in client engagements and project delivery, and provide strategic guidance and oversight to the team * Strong working knowledge of Forensic Accounting and solid understanding of accounting concepts * The ability to manage engagement economics and risk * Clear, articulate and confident written and verbal communication skills, including client reports, presentations, papers and articles * Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities * Strong research skills * Experienced with leading-edge technologies and an interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work * Willing to travel if necessary Why you'll love working for PwC We want you to love every (if not, almost every) minute of your career, having said this, we get it.
