We rely on data engineers to pipeline and operationalise these critical data sets. Trillions of data points, real time sources, vast histories, and complex n-dimensional datasets. As a Data Engineer in our Data function you will form part of the Data Analytics vertical. The data Analytics team is responsible for ensuring the conversion of clean, ordered data into actionable analytics to drive decision making. All about you You: * Have the ability to handle development and support activities simultaneously * Able to work under pressure with front office users * Are highly motivated to complete projects and 'go the extra mile' to achieve positive outcomes for the business. * Are able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with all levels and disciplines You also: * Have a graduate qualification in an analytical or science-based discipline e.g. engineering/maths/computer science or equivalent Your technical skills and experience Ideally you will have a good selection of the following: * Experience with messaging and or data streaming technologies such as Kafka, ActiveMQ, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Event Hubs. * Knowledge of data structures design and use. * Experience of hybrid and/or cloud distributed architectures that utilise Hadoop / MapReduce / AWS / TensorFlow /Azure * Experience with the following development languages: - At least 2 languages that can be used to write web services/etc, e.g. C#/Java, or C++. - Some knowledge of Python or related scripting languages * Experience in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, T-SQL and PL-SQL Programming, DB Queues * Knowledge of a NoSQL database solution * Experience of designing and developing solutions in web technologies such as but not exclusively Microsoft .NET Framework * Knowledge of development tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, TFS, Subversion, Nuget and Git. * Knowledge of automation tools * Knowledge of logging technologies * Knowled
