Rank: Substantive or Temporary Sergeant Closing Date: Friday 3rd July 2020, midnight This is a 2 year secondment. Applications are invited from substantive or temporary Sergeants (with their Chief Officers approval), for the position of CBRN Training Team Supervisor, on a 2 year secondment to the National CBRN Centre based at the College of Policing, Coventry. The successful applicant will supervise the team in the effective design, development and delivery of national CBRN training programmes and products to police and multi-agency partners, both nationally and internationally. They must have experience of being a supervisor or manager. Applicants will provide day to day supervision of the multi-agency training delivery team within the National CBRN Centre ensuring that all training products are current, accurate, version controlled and audited regularly to identify where lessons can be learned and maintain the highest standards. The post holder will carry out research and evaluation as directed by the Operational Development Manager to assist with the administrative functions, in order to ensure that the Centre operates effectively. Applicants must have a minimum Level 3 (or equivalent) training qualification with experience of design, development, delivery or management of emergency service training programmes. Current operational experience within an emergency service environment, in response to multi-agency major incidents and public events is essential. The post holder must also have current experience in the supervision and management of personnel. The successful applicant will be required to hold or undertake vetting to SC and MV with mandatory Developed Vetting in role. The successful applicant will be supported in their development to fulfil the role which will include regular National on-call cadre duties. Priority back-fill training on the next scheduled course will be given to forces releasing applicants as opposed to waiting in a queue. The role is at a site in the Coventry area.
