Job Description

Payment Operations is crucial to Starling, and our customers. We ensure that payments are processed correctly, and on time. We work with many payment schemes and it is crucial that we are always up to date on scheme rules and regulatory requirements. To support our rapid and continued customer growth, we are looking for new payments administrators to join the team. Your responsibilities will include: * The processing of manual deposits. * Managing customers regular payments such as Direct Debits and Standing Orders. * Processing daily post. * Cheque processing: * Returning cheques to customers and banks, as required, in a timely manner. * Investigating and resolving cheques queries and undertaking the necessary checks to process them. * Processing the return of inapplicable funds. * Processing confidential paperwork. * Supporting the payment processing team and dealing with ad-hoc tasks. * Preparing letters to customers. * Ensuring external and regulatory requirements are adhered to. * Actively seeking to improve processes and workflow. Requirements * This role would be ideal for someone with back-office bank branch experience. * Knowledge of cheques clearing processes would be advantageous. * Accuracy and excellent attention to detail. * Ability to communicate effectively with customers. * Ability to manage and prioritise workload, working well within a team. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
