Job Description

Your new role We currently have 2 great opportunities to join our Strategy and Planning Directorate as a Senior Administrator. You will have a varied and interesting role where you will play a key part in ensuring the team you support excels and delivers. You will be able to prioritise your workload, ensuring a smooth and efficient process is in place to coordinate and draft communications to and from the team you support, as well as dealing with Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and CEO correspondence, where accuracy and an eye for detail is key. You will be responsible for maintaining and uploading key documents, producing reports and supporting internal and external meetings. Of note, one role also provides support to the Director of one of the newest divisions in the Directorate, this is a great opportunity to be involved in the growth, development and establishment of an expanding team. If you like to be the go-to person who finds solutions not problems, can keep a number of plates spinning whilst still enjoying what you do, and are flexible to adjust to changing priorities, then this is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation that looks after its staff. What you'll be leading on * Operate a number of administrative processes, ensuring that these are delivered accurately, on time and in line with defined procedures and standards. * Produce accurate and timely KPI reports for inclusion in higher level management reporting, to support effective management decision making. * Produce reports, presentations and other documents, collating and analysing relevant information and statistics from identified sources, to support others in the delivery of their business objectives. * Answer standard and non-standard enquiries and act as a point of contact internally and externally, providing information to stakeholders to support service delivery, customer service, and management decision making and escalating issues for resolution as necessary. * Enter and maintain information on systems and files to ensure that information is up to date, in the right place and easily accessible. To be successful * Excellent communications skills * Excellent skills using standard office software products to enable production and maintenance of a range of complex documents and spreadsheets * Strong stakeholder management * Previous administrative support experience * Ability to prioritise tasks and time management A bit about us Strategy and Planning plays a crucial role at the heart of Highways England, providing strategic direction to the organisation and working closely with all the other directorates to enable delivery of the company's ambitious agenda. We lead on key corporate initiatives including the long-term ambition for our Strategic Road Network (SRN), the production and review of the 5-year Strategic Business and Delivery Plans, our response to Nationally Important strategic infrastructure programmes, our corporate transformation programme and developing our national plans covering route strategies, investment and economic growth.
