Functional Area: IN - Investment Estimated Travel Percentage (%): Up to 25% Relocation Provided: No AIG Asset Management (Europe) Limited Your future team The role is working within a team that has a dual investment mandate covering both non-US residential investments and structured alternatives, with the primary focus of this role covering the alternatives sector. Your contribution at AIG: * This is a varied role seeking someone who can balance transaction underwriting and portfolio management across a range of sectors and asset classes. * The team has a broad investment remit covering transactions from bespoke loan financings and structured transactions through to vanilla securitisation deals (RMBS, ABS etc). * The primary focus of the role will be underwriting and portfolio managing investments in the structured alternatives sector, which covers multiple asset types (e.g. Fund Finance, Trade Finance etc); hence we are seeking someone who can think creatively when underwriting transactions. * Transactions typically require credit risk analysis of granular portfolios, as such the role is suited to someone who has experience of analysing portfolios of debt / debt-like obligations, and would like the opportunity in applying such skills to potentially unfamiliar asset classes. * In addition to credit loss and cash flow modelling which is often required for all transactions, the role will include review and comment on market standard transaction documents and with the support of the wider team manage transactions through the lifecycle of the trade. * The role requires collaborating with team members and other departments as well as having responsibility for managing transactions through credit committees. Culture: * AIG Investments has a flat structure with an open and collaborative culture. * You will be reporting directly to the Managing Director responsible for the business line, but will be expected to develop relationships with key stakeholders, e.g. CIOs, Modelling team, Legal and Credit Officers. * Progression is achieved through increasing responsibility alongside the development of deeper sector knowledge and taking on increasing parts of the investment process. What we are looking for: * A bright, enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude. * Degree level qualification * Someone with an inquisitive mindset, who can combine detailed analysis with the ability to articulate and present the big picture * Strong analytical skills with familiarity of using Excel to appropriately analyse risks within transactions backed by granular portfolios, this should be demonstrated through current and/or previous roles * Track record of reviewing / negotiating transaction documentation * Experience in financial markets (banking, asset management or consulting), of which three or more years should be related to investment analysis * Good team player * Ability to organize and prioritize * Client focused, ethical and accountable AIG Investments AIG Investments provides investment advisory and asset management services to AIG.
