Business Unit: Generalist The Investments division of Barings is seeking an analyst for the Analytics team. The team combines mathematical model development with market research to forecast investment performance, construct portfolios, and design customized product solutions and services that are tailored to our clients' individual needs. The Analytics team also oversees the quality of models to support the investment process. In addition, the team helps build and maintain Barings' financial data inventory and data management system. The goal of the Analyst Program is to train junior professionals such that they are able to provide leverage to senior professionals while utilizing them in a manner such that high performers will want to remain with the firm in roles of increased responsibility. Primary Responsibilities * Promote a data-driven decision-making culture * Financial and operational model analysis across the firm and cross-functional teams * Market research and data collection * Quantitative model development * Statistical methodology research * Programming Qualifications * Graduation date of May/June 2020 * Passion for the markets and quantitative analytics * STEM or quantitative finance/economics background * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills * Working knowledge and skill set of computer programming language(s), preferably: VBA, Python, R, SQL, MATLAB * Ability to manage large data sets * Basic knowledge of financial statements * Statistical analysis * Knowledge about financial modeling * Strong communication abilities to convey complex and quantitative concepts across teams Expectations of an analyst: * Strong communication skills * Highly motivated self-starter with exceptional work ethic * Attention to detail * Effective time management * Responsiveness * Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn * Reliability * Professionalism * Team-oriented Important information regarding this requisition: This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK.
