Design Architect - Fibre / DWDM - £95k & Bonus, 10% pension, private health, life assurance & more - London (Paddington) The Opportunity Would you like to get involved in one of the most exciting programme of works in the UK that is going to revolutionise the daily lives of commuters in London? This project is to roll out 4G mobile connectivity across the underground sections of the London Underground network and while platform access is available for Wi-Fi at the moment, this network build and deployment programme will allow that access to data when on the move in the tunnels so is one of the biggest commuting game changers for many a year. This role is working for the client and network owner. The Role As the Design Architect, you will be essentially lead designer / architect of this new fibre network across London, So you will be the design authority for optical electronics (DWDM) and Ethernet solutions. This is a deigning a brand new fibre network from scratch in and around London in challenging timescales, so a role that will require a proven professional from day 1. Who are you? An architect designer within fibre / DWDM - it's that simple. Someone who has done this kind of role before for one of the large fibre companies across London. You will have a solid understanding of active and passive CWDM / DWDM optical switching solutions, strong understanding of figre route planning and a sharp knowledge iof the UK Fibre and dark fibre market. Experience of working on and around projects associated with rail, TFL or LUL a distinct advantage and specifically by way of engineering or technology projects into that sector. This is going to be a rapid growth, scale up business that has the advantage of being able to call upon a proven track record by way of similar projects across the World - however, that ability to play a major part in building and shaping your function quickly is going to be paramount. While it isn't strictly essential that you have built a function from scratch previously, the ability to keep a cool head in a rapid deployment, project environment would be essential but that equals a lot of opportunity in our opinion to really influence moving forward.
