Senior Design Engineer - Fibre / DWDM - £95k & Bonus, 10% pension, private health, life assurance & more - Most senior designer on project - Architect level - London (Paddington) The Opportunity Would you like to get involved in one of the most exciting programme of works in the UK that is going to revolutionise the daily lives of commuters in London for one of the most up and coming companies in tech and telecoms? To give you an idea of this truly unique project, it is to roll out 4G mobile connectivity across the underground sections of the London Underground network. While platform access is available for Wi-Fi at the moment, this network build and deployment programme will allow that access to data when on the move in the tunnels so is one of the biggest commuting game changers for many a year. This is to be seen as most exciting project for years in fibre (whole new network from scratch) and around the underground, so a chance to get in "right at the start". The Role THE most senior design person on this whole project. Architect level. You will be lead designer / architect of this new fibre network across London, So you will be the design authority for optical electronics (DWDM) and Ethernet solutions. This is a deigning a brand new fibre network from scratch in and around London in challenging timescales, so a role that will require a proven professional from day 1. Who are you? A senior designer within fibre / DWDM - it's that simple. Someone who has done this kind of role before for one of the large fibre companies across London. You will have a solid understanding of active and passive CWDM / DWDM optical switching solutions, strong understanding of fibre route planning and a sharp knowledge of the UK Fibre and dark fibre market. Experience of working on and around projects associated with rail, TFL or LUL a distinct advantage and specifically by way of engineering or technology projects into that sector. As this is "phase 1" of recruitment on a new project, we need people who are really up for a challenge and want to leave their mark on a project that will literally change people's lives for years to come… What next?
