Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within the Adult Mental Health Directorate for a Team Manager within the IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) programme. Within County Durham and Darlington, IAPT services are provided Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust working in partnership with Mental Health Matters and Sunderland Counselling Service. The post holder will be employed by Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys Foundation Trust. The programme is governed by partnership board with members from the three partners. Talking Changes is led by a Clinical Lead and Service Manager. This is an exciting time for the development of IAPT services with new service models of care emerging with the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health (2016). We are seeking a talented, dynamic individual with energy, drive and a high level of interpersonal skills to join the management team. The post holder will undertake a wide range of duties to support the Service Manager and Clinical Lead in the delivery of performance against a broad range of objectives and targets. You will work closely with clinical teams and Senior Therapists to ensure the delivery of access and recovery targets, ensuring that the efficiency and productivity of service delivery is maximised. The ability to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team is important to ensure that deadlines are met. In order to achieve this, good organisational and interpersonal skills (in a partnership context) are essential. You will be knowledgeable of the full range of mental health services and will have experience of management in a healthcare or related social care setting. You will be experienced in managing teams and individuals, in operational management and in the management of risk. You will be adept at working within multi-agency partnerships and in implementing and managing change. You will be educated to degree level and ideally hold a management qualification. The successful candidate will be based within the service and may be asked to work at other sites within County Durham and Darlington where necessary.
