Job Description
Exciting opportunity to join Beazley's Executive Risks division as an Analyst, providing analytical and research support across the full range of US-focused D&O and EPL products. This is a broad and varied role covering economic and industry trends, new product research, claims analysis, reviewing portfolio mix and performance, marketing materials and managing changes to pricing. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of the corporate world with experience in analysing its strengths and weaknesses, ideally within the US market, and will need good statistical analysis skills and the ability to understand complex models and concepts. Job description and person specification Job Title : Analyst - Executive Risks Division: Cyber & Executive Risks (CyEx) Key Relationships : Underwriters, claims staff, actuaries, brokers, external clients and suppliers Job Summary : To provide analytical and research support and project management to the Executive Risk teams. Key Responsibilities * Research and analyse sector trends to report regularly back to the wider team on issues that may affect/inform underwriting including macro events, industry shifts, litigation trends and loss experience. * Manage internal database of competitors. * Maintain database of securities class actions and report regularly on trends and findings. * Assist in the maintenance of marketing materials based on sector research, litigation trends, competitor offerings. * Respond to data management requests across Executive Risks in a timely fashion, including quarterly claims analysis for M&A and reinsurance teams. * Continued development of the D&O and EPL pricing models to identify trends within the US corporate market that may affect the relevant books of business. * Test assumptions within the D&O and EPL rating models to ensure accuracy and that they reflect current thinking. * Work as part of the "core model team" on the D&O book to drive the development of the rating model and manage regular the update of the model to reflect new information and/or thinking in order to develop 'best in class' pricing models. * Understand the US corporate environment, company structures and working practices and the potential exposure for the D&O account. * Monitor historic claims trends across industry segmentations in the US corporate environment in order to analyse and identify drivers within each segment and predict likely future claims scenarios in each. * Study industry or company data to update information in current Executive Risks pricing models or develop new models in conjunction with the actuarial pricing team. * Scope out proposals by the team for launching new products or extending the reach of existing products. * Work with the claims team to analyse our own experience on claims in terms of defence costs, indemnity, monitoring costs, types of allegations etc. * Work with external data providers in testing of data provision in conjunction with the pricing team. * Undertake ad hoc data requests and analyses, including liaising with internal stakeholders such as the Data Management and Underwriting Management teams.
