Department Overview SSA Post Sales Operations Job Description PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION You will be responsible for project management and coordination of projects within the Sub Sahara Africa region. Projects are typically based on LMR systems using state of the art technology such as Tetra, APCO-25, MotoTrbo as well as evolving LTE systems and solutions and other IP based technologies. The position requires managerial experience in system Integration, customer management, financial management, subcontractors and contract negotiations. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES/ EXPECTATIONS Delivery of projects/ system orders in the Sub Sahara Africa region from project award through to project closing. Manage regional project teams in a matrix environment, to ensure contract requirements (system delivery) are fulfilled on time, to specification, within budget and to the customer's total satisfaction. Act as the responsible interface between the customer, the various company divisions/ departments, vendors and any other involved parties. Management of Motorola subcontractors. Produce and maintain project plans and ensure they are achieved. Planning and coordination of project tasks with all internal and external departments and groups involved. Control of resources and cost allocated to the project. Produce and maintain project budgets, forecasts & P&L goals. Identify project risks, quantify and produce risk mitigation and contingency plans to optimise profitability and customer satisfaction. Providing Management reports on progress, milestones, risks, costs, billings and releases. Manage change control process and project variations. Manage all Customer quality cases through the Motorola Customer Issue Resolution process ensuring that all cases are closed in a timely and satisfactory manner. Maintain project documentation in accordance with Motorola, customer contract and ISO requirements. Manage quality metrics as per the Motorola quality goals. Ensure compliance to the Motorola Office of Ethics and Compliance requirements Basic Requirements *The position may be located in other European countries. Education: University Degree, or equivalent in an Engineering, Business Studies, Project Management, or a related discipline. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince 2 certification or equivalent. Experience: Engineering degree of electrical engineering or equivalent education with experience in telecommunication technology. At least 5 years practical experience of systems implementation and project management in telecommunications and\or Public Safety communications systems. International experience/familiarity workingin a multicultural environment. Experience leading projects with successful results (within scope, schedule, and budget) In depth working knowledge of project management methodologies and be familiar with software based project management tools Expert knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint required, advanced knowledge of MS Project Strong Business Acumen including good financial awareness Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of ISO 9001 process and procedures Strong willingness to travel frequently, including to high risk countries. Language: Fluency in English both written and spoken is essential, French language skills would be appreciated. COMMUNICATIONS Considering the role includes client facing activities, communication skills are vital. The project manager will be expected to be presentable and business like at all times confident in approach and confident in delivering presentations. As in any project, the project manager will be working with a diverse team of people with diverse backgrounds and skills. The individual is required to have, and be prepared to use, a wide range of interpersonal skills to keep the team focused and motivated on the task at hand. The project manager must be a willing team leader and member. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS The position of Project Manager is highly responsible and requires a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.
