Job title: Partners' Remuneration Manager Job description: We are currently recruiting for a Partners' Remuneration Manager to join our Finance team in London. The Partners' Remuneration Manager is responsible for: * The management of the team responsible for delivery of key accounting processes across the UK function of the PAT team, including management of all GL accounts, inter-office accounting and firm budgeting work. * The management of the accurate preparation of the current and former partner payrolls. Role and responsibilities - Partner Accounts * Supervision of the Partner * Management of relationship with the global finance team, and individual overseas offices, to ensure that accounting for partner related transactions with overseas offices are effectively controlled and recorded and is compliant with internal policies. * Management and review of the calculations for the partner profit allocations and priority share balances included in the Firm's monthly management accounts. * Management of the firm's annual profit points by individual, department and office, including maintaining the forward projections in connection with the Global Equity Plan. * Calculation of the firm's provision for payments to former partners, for inclusion in the annual accounts, along with quarterly updates for management account purposes. * Develop and maintain relationships with Practice Group COOs and local office CFOs to provide a first point of contact for partner/department related queries. * Management of the Trial Balance ensuring that department GL accounts are reconciled in accordance with the firm policies including: * department control accounts, bank loan interest accounts; and * individual partner, drawings, current accounts, overseas expense accounts, and capital accounts. * Involvement in development of foreign currency accounting practices for the team including inter-office/inter-entity accounting. * Management of the day to day work, coaching and development of the Partnership Accountant. Role and responsibilities - Partner Reward * Responsible for accurate preparation and review of all partner and retired partner payrolls, including management of the day to day work, coaching and development of the Partner Payroll Specialist. * Preparation of lateral partner statistics presented to the Equity Committee and involvement in determining and agreeing lateral partner remuneration. * Management of expatriate partner benefits/packages and prior shares. Role and responsibilities - Other responsibilities including Year-End * Responsible for the compilation of the partner figures for inclusion in the notes to the annual accounts. * Year-end work including partner profit share and tax equalisation calculations. * Preparation and review of annual individual partner current account statements. * Responsibility for partner related aspects of annual and monthly budgeting process, including equity, cash flow and prior share calculations. * Management of the global partner benefit policies consisting of the arrangement and maintenance of Life Assurance, Personal Accident, and Permanent Health Insurances. * Take a lead in developing new ideas, processes or systems improvements for the team and development of the junior member of the team, in order to improve our overall service to the partners and the firm. * Ad-hoc project work, such as the development of department accounting processes and payroll system. Key requirements * Able to work on own initiative, taking ownership for delivery of key work products. * Ability to manage and develop a team to provide a high level of 'client service' in a global environment. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in providing clear straightforward summaries to partners regarding complex financial data either by email, phone call or face to face. * Enthusiastic, dynamic, pro-active, ambitious, commitment to "getting the job done". * Highly organised with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail. * Strong numeracy and IT skills, including knowledge of Windows, Excel, and Word and the ability to adapt to using unfamiliar software packages. Particular emphasis is placed on experience of Excel. * Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task, prioritise, manage processes, critically review and evaluate financial information. Qualifications Qualified Accountant (ACCA or similar) with significant post qualification experience.
