Job Description
MailOnline Desktop Support Engineer PURPOSE: MainOnline is the fastest growing newspaper in the world and one of the largest with over 200 million visitors a month. To keep up with the growing company the support needs to grow and an opportunity to join the existing two-man team to support. You will act as the first point of contact for all technical related queries for all company users using previous knowledge, logic and research techniques to solve technical user problems. The role is predominantly London based but there may be occasional travel required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Support of IT questions from the company users, 450+ users. * Administration of company IT equipment. Lenovo laptops, HP desktops, Apple devices, Android devices and many more. * Managed your time effectively under a highly stressed environment whilst covering shifts from 8am till 8pm. * Answer walk-ups, phone queries and email from staff of all levels, log the calls using ServiceNow and resolve as many as possible during 1st contact. * Once initiated, you will become part of the dedicated support for the Managing Editors office, the Publisher and other VIPs. * Liaise with Mail Tech support to provide an excellent level of service to end users. * Asset manage all IT equipment in use by MailOnline. * Liaise with counterparts in America and Australia. * Liaise with overseas counterparts and Mail Tech support to resolve calls of a more technical or specialised * Create user accounts, mailboxes and provide access to network drives and additional mailboxes SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE Training will be provided on all in-house applications but key knowledge will include; * SCCM 2012 * Any remote desktop support * Experience within a high pressured team role * Office 2013 and Windows 7 * Casper management suite This role continually evolves at a rapid pace and offers the successful candidate the ability to develop their technical skills in an environment keen on using the latest hardware and software.
