Job Description

The Business Analyst is responsible for analysing, defining and delivering enhancements involving our in-house Concessions system. In addition there will be Project Management when on-boarding new Business Partners as well as providing essential day to day support to the Claire's Concession team across Europe. This is a key liaison role with our Business and IT Development teams, as well as taking ownership for resolving general issues associated with our Concession stores and partners. Main Responsibilites * Responsible for analysing, defining, delivering and quality assuring new Concession IT systems or enhancements to existing in-house Concession systems in line with approved pre-defined requirements set by the functional business areas. * Produce project plans and project documentation (including technical specifications) according to the approved standards and processes for the software development life cycle specifying goals, development timescales, resource requirements, risks, issues and contingency plans associated with any of the Concession IT systems. * Provide a Project Management role when on-boarding new Concession partners to ensure that all solutions are fully documented and any risks mitigated. * Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key contacts at all levels across the business (including board members) * Detailed investigation and analysis of data processing or application related issues identifying the cause of the problem through information gathering and conferring with internal and external stakeholders. * Assessment of the potential solutions identifying and proposing the most appropriate solution for the business with supporting documentation where applicable. * Adapt complex technical language and translate it into more meaningful and user friendly terminology * Identify opportunities to improve the flow of data files or business processes relating to the Concessions business. * Collaborate with the IT Development and Concession Business Teams in the design of new data transfers to and from third parties as and when required. * Attend meetings as requested, reporting back progress on issues raised or capturing changes / new work requirements. * Follow database development controls and change procedures when reviewing and modifying data processing, reports and applications * Run training sessions for other IT team members or Business users on process or system changes relating to the Concessions business. * Work closely with Stakeholders to create guidelines and manuals for each of Concession partners and ensure that they are regularly reviewd and updated. * Ensure that System and UAT testing is carried out, signed off and documented for new and changes to existing Concession systems is carried out * Assist 1st Line Support on issues with our Concession scanners and associated applications within Europe and organise replacement equipment as required. * Investigate reporting issues identified by stores, rectifying data, proposing solutions or re-issuing reports as required. * Prioritise support issues raised by the Business and Store teams, ensuring that all errors are logged, , updated and resolved as required to agreed SLA's and standards. * Housekeeping and System maintenance tasks as required About You: * Strong problem solving aptitude. * Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines * Demonstrable experience of Customer Service and Support. * Methodical and Accurate * Analytical mindset. * Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal. Essentials * Proven experience as a Business analyst, IT analyst, Consultant or similar role. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. * Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of using MS Excel functions. * Maths and English - minimum Grade C. * Business Analyst Certification - minimum Foundation level Desireable experience * Data Analysis - experience querying, manipulating and extracting data from databases using SQL data tools - ideally Microsoft SQL Server software. * Experience of working in a retail environment. * Knowledge of data modelling and visualisation tools. * Project Management skills. * Knowledge of retail processes and stock management /allocation systems. * Conceptual understanding of relational databases and database design.
