Shared Infrastructure (SI) Virtualisation Engineer Would you like to play an integral role within our software delivery team? We currently have a vacancy for a SI Virtualisation Engineer at our site in New Malden. As a SI Virtualisation Engineer, you will be working across a number of projects within our Naval Ships Business Unit. This role will provide you with an opportunity to shape what we are doing and how we do it technically, and to design and implement solutions that enable COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf) software to be used in a military environment. Your main responsibilities as a SI Virtualisation Engineer will involve: Supporting the low-level virtualisation design and implementation aspects for SI on multiple platforms (e.g. T26, T23, QEC and T45) Proposing solutions to complex technical issues and seeing them through from design to implementation and to deployment Support to technical issues and presenting IT solutions to a range of stakeholders and technical communities including to Executive Level Helping to define and promote understanding of virtualisation technologies across the SI product team Having a grasp of bleeding edge technology, where the market is going, and how current and future technology fits in to the solutions we are defining Your skills and qualifications: Experience of being in a large scale design and implementation team, delivering to tight timescales and being customer focused. Specific knowledge of VMware technologies and experience of its application in delivered systems Established exposure to VMware vSphere, vCenter Server, Horizon and associated technologies. (Knowledge of NSX and vSAN is useful but not essential.) Experience of design document creation and system level details capture What we're looking for in you: Our ideal candidate will have great communication skills, both written and verbal.
