Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clerical Officer to join the team at the Centre for Independent Living. We are currently looking to recruit a caring, committed and efficient individual to join our busy team. The purpose of this role is to provide an effective and efficient equipment loan service to service users who have a long/ short term physical disability or sensory impairment and to assist in the maintenance of all stock, service user and financial records in accordance with the Department's standard operating procedures. The successful candidate will be required to possess good communication skills in order to liaise on a daily basis with a wide range of staff, clinicians and service users. The successful candidate will manage referrals via the in-house computer system ELMS, deal with enquiries, book appointments, prepare and send letters to clients and assist in the day to day scheduling of work for the drivers and technicians. This post will require excellent time management skills and attention to detail. The successful candidate will deal with all forms of communication, e.g. letters, emails, telephone calls and face-to-face contact. You will need to have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, along with the ability to cover a customer facing role - i.e reception. The successful applicant will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook, previous experience of working within a demanding office environment, ideally within a health care setting. The successful candidate will possess customer service skills, patient computer based systems experience, together with the ability to work under pressure to deadlines. You will be responsible in your role to cover similar areas of the Independent Living Services during high demand. Day of working are currently Monday to Friday and hours range between 8.30am - 5.00pm The successful candidate must demonstrate an attitude that respects and values service users and their carers.
