QS - Income Recovery

Job Description
We require a QS to join us Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and to take responsibility, ownership and accountability of the successful management and control all aspects of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of the designated PFI / FM contract(s) in order to control and maximise the company's profitability and to protect the companies legal and contractual obligations under the contract(s). This role will focus on the management and recovery of contractual entitlements due to ENGIE, reporting to the Commercial Manager, the QS - Income Recovery will have a full and thorough understanding of the applicable scope and variation process across the contract(s). This role is not solely projects and variations based and will cover the entirety of the FM Services contract. The role will review payment applications, work in progress and scope on an ongoing basis to ensure full recovery. Working with both supply chain and client side they will build excellent relationships based on trust and transparency to improve the performance of the contract(s). Main Responsibilities/Duties Include: Control & review of all expenditure and income Thorough understanding of recovery mechanisms and terms Identification of key risks and opportunities Day to day cost control, monitoring and reporting Management and reduction of KPI penalties Reconcile cost/value reports and profit forecasts Issue regular progress reports and demonstration of recovery Input and management of stock control Continual use of the sub-contract data base and review of sub-contractor performance Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner in accordance with the contracts Process / review subcontractor requests for payment Where appropriate, assist with estimates and negotiations for projects Attend project and company related meetings Ensure the company is neither compromised nor disadvantaged by an contractual or financial arrangement Manage the costs on a project to ensure both the company and the client is fully advised of the cost situation Be responsible for your safety and others around you Work across contracts in the midlands area as required Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience: Industry experience in the role of a Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Commercial Manager Post graduate experience within a surveying position reporting to a commercial manager IT skills - MS Office, Excel, Project, Word etc For more information about ENGIE, please visit: For this role, you must have evidence of the right to work in the UK.
