JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Technician Accountable to: Warehouse Manager; Hire Manager; Head of Production Manchester Location: Manchester Office Working with: Operations and Warehouse Teams mclcreate is a unique live events company with an ambition to become number one in the UK. We create over 10,000 event solutions a year from hiring of our own extensive AV kit right through to delegate management, production, creative and full event management - all under one virtual roof. We are now looking for an energetic, enthusiastic individual to join our Manchester warehouse team as a Technician. The technician role will have a wide-ranging scope of tasks and responsibilities, going from general equipment management (goods in, goods out, preparation, returning and maintenance) in the warehouse through to the installation and removal of hire equipment on site. To ensure success in the role, it will be key to learn and correctly use the computer systems in place to manage stock control, supporting others in maintaining accurate digital and physical records of equipment during all the above-mentioned tasks. You will support all functions delivered by the warehouse and operations teams which amongst many things, will be physically demanding and see travel outside of the warehouse environment into the various venues and sites that we work on. Whilst the varying nature of daily tasks is what attracts many to the industry, it does bring with it the need for working outside of standard hours on a regular basis. This is not your typical 9-5 job, which is exactly what we love about it! Key tasks and responsibilities of the role: Preparation of equipment and other associated items for our customers. This will include (but not be limited to) Large Screens, Video, Audio, Lighting, Rigging, Set, Furniture and Staging equipment. Receiving and returning items into the warehouse, checking the contents and processing the relevant paperwork. Installing and remove equipment from our client venues and sites. Subject to experience and abilities, this may also include the operation of equipment during live events. Interacting with clients in a professional and polite manner. Ensuring they are fully conversant with the equipment they are hiring and making sure all relevant paperwork is completed. Support with loading and unloading of equipment into vehicles. Assist with regular stock takes, checking equipment against the asset register and making sure all accessories are complete and listed. On possession of a full driving licence, you will be required to drive the company vehicles, so careful use and maintenance will be expected from you. You will be expected to display a flexible attitude, assisting other departments when necessary, on a variety of tasks, as workloads require. Working hours: This is a full time, 40-hour a week contract. Your working day will consist of a 9-hour shift which will include one hour's unpaid lunch. Standard warehouse hours are 8am - 5pm but these will vary subject to the requirements of the day. Training: Training in all areas of the job will be provided from a variety of staff on an ongoing basis with the majority of learning being 'on the job' as specific tasks are requested. Over time, there will be opportunities for external training course to be attended (subject to good performance and reviews).
