Job Description
Job Title: FIELD MEASURE TECHNICIAN Report to: Regional Manager Salary: Paid Hourly, Overtime Eligible, Full or Part time considered This role is based from the employees home, and can offer flexibility to the successful applicant. Applicants must be willing to travel within an identified region up to 25000 business miles per annum (however expected to be less). POSITION SUMMARY The Field Measure Technician accurately measures and draws out the installation space in the customer's home. They begin the installation conversion through serving as the in-home partner to the DEL/Traemand Planners. The individual in this role is the customer's first physical contact with both IKEA and DEL/Traemand and sets the tone for an exceptional customer experience. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Core Duties & Responsibilities: * Safety first, in everything we do. Consistently follow all safety rules and precautions. * Supports the Company by securing high quality services, in a cost and time effective way. * Arrive on time at customer's home with proper tools for preset measure appointments. * Make onsite visits, in company issued IKS uniform, for purpose of measuring prospective installation spaces and communicating these measurements in accordance with Company policy. * Setting expectations with customer on installation roadmap and ensuring proper handoff. * Accurately measure, interpret and draw out installation space and upload the data in a timely manner and within the Company requirements using Company technology. * Review layout of kitchen with customer to ensure all components are correct and all measurements are accurate. * Review appliance locations and new appliances to ensure they will fit. * Draw plumbing, gas and electric line information on diagrams noting any changes with customer initials. * Review all project paperwork required, system access, and obtain needed signatures from the customer. * Communicate effectively and in a timely manner to all strategic partners about the space. * Continuously learn the IKEA products to ask questions and provide Planning Team a list of 'must haves' and 'would like to have' information. * Performs additional duties as identified and assigned. * Complete all training requests by Company and perform such training in accordance with requirements of Company. * Must be able to pass a background check. Travel: Day travel is required in a reliable, personal vehicle. All Business mileage will be reimbursed as per travel policy - this reflects the current government guidelines.The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required.
