Job Description
We are looking for a Chef to join our team of bank staff to provide ad-hoc cover for staff holidays and sickness. Our bank opportunities provide flexibility and often lead to permanent contracted hours. Brendoncare Stildon is our care home in West Sussex providing nursing care for 32 older people, 11 close care apartments and a small day centre for local people living with dementia. Stildon has been specifically designed to enable older people to live independent, happy and fulfilling lives. You will work closely with the Catering Manager and Catering team, providing a range of high standard catering services to residents, staff and visitors. Providing good meals is a vital part of the Brendoncare care and service delivery. This role will suit an experienced cook with a flair for creating appetising meals and a natural affinity for older people. You will need good communication skills, an ability to support, manage and motivate those around you, along with a desire to deliver exceptional service. Knowledge of the dietary requirements for older people would be an advantage. As our Bank Chef, your key responsibilities are: · Assisting with the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen; · Preparing food for residents, visitors and staff; - Supporting the Catering Assistant with washing up. Ensuring adherence to: · Health, Safety and Hygiene legislative requirements · Brendoncare's HACCP system · COSHH regulations within the team · Infection Control procedures
