Our client is looking for Investment Banking Manager


Requirements


Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree from a reputable University in a relevant discipline (including business, management, finance, economics, accounting, business law, international relations, engineering, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, science) or other professional qualification from a recognized professional body, e.g., CFA, CPA, CGA, CIMA, ACCA, ASA, FSA, FRM.


A CFA or MBA/Master’s Degree specializing in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Banking or Credit Management would be considered an asset


Working knowledge of banking and financial laws and regulations as well as commercial contracts


The person should have at least 4 years of experience in finance with a proven track record in areas of sourcing, structuring, and closing investments and/or supervising loan and/or equity exposures


Strong financial and credit skills; ability to structure a variety of financial instruments (debt and equity)


Demonstrated knowledge of industries, industry trends and opportunities in Guyana and the Caribbean region, and understanding of local issues


Ability to interact directly and independently with the management of potential clients, financial and technical partners as well as government officials


Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues from various cultural backgrounds


Ability to effectively communicate with clients with a high level of professionalism and professional deportment


Genuine commitment to the highest ethical standards and maintaining a non-partisan political perception of oneself


Articulate with outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English. Working knowledge of another language will be an asset.


Responsibilities


Assist in evaluating, structuring, negotiating, syndicating, and closing capital markets transactions


Assess the creditworthiness of clients while exercising sound credit judgment and best practices in corporate lending


Ensures proper documentation/record keeping is in place and adheres to the Bank’s policies and procedures


Engages and works with legal counsel to ensure that all legal documentation required for new and existing finance facilities are developed in accordance with credit approvals


Negotiate with quantity surveyors, environmental firms, accountants, project managers, consultants, and other third-party firms to provide client support on projects


Prepare sales and marketing teasers, term sheets, and other materials associated with syndication and other capital market transactions


Provide effective and efficient professional support for respective clients through close and follow-up on all service issues


Develop innovative and appropriate financial structures for straightforward transactions


Participate or lead negotiations as appropriate; use financial competencies and personal influencing skills to overcome impasses and lead negotiations to a successful outcome


Work with more senior management to develop a strong pipeline of good quality investment opportunities


Build and maintain strong relationships with external and internal clients, global and regional private businesses, banking and multilateral partners and government officials to further develop the capital markets sector in Guyana and to develop specific investment opportunities.
