Job Description

The Children's Radiology Department at University Hospital's Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated caring health care support worker to support the children's radiology service. This is a 6 months fixed term position. ABOUT THE TEAM Children's Radiology is a modern dedicated paediatric environment, which performed just under 50,000 paediatric imaging examinations last year. We are a friendly team consisting of consultant paediatric radiologists, registrars, paediatric radiographers and admin staff. The main children's radiology department is based at Southampton General hospital and provides imaging for both inpatient and outpatient. We have 4 modern x-ray rooms, a fluoroscopy and an ultrasound room, within our own footprint. A satellite x-ray and ultrasound service is provided at the Royal South Hants hospital for outpatients. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Assist radiologists/sonographers in ultrasound, by preparing the equipment and escorting patients. * Assess individual patient's requirements, monitor and care for patients in the department waiting areas pre/post procedures and escort patients between wards and radiology. * Assist radiologist with interventional and fluoroscopy procedures as required.
