Language Instructor in Spanish 31,866 rising annually to 34,804 pro rata Part Time, Permanent - Academic This is a part-time, permanent, 0.4 FTE position We are seeking to appoint a language instructor in Spanish language, effective September 1st, 2020. The successful candidate will join a closely-knit team, each of whom is active in his/her own discipline, and will be expected to teach across a range of modules including the first-year Spanish language courses. Applicants should have demonstrated academic excellence in the area of language teaching. Teaching experience at university (undergraduate degree) level is essential. We are a small team and require someone who has a broad understanding of the Spanish field alongside specific areas of expertise. The successful candidate will * have native or near-native command of the Spanish language * have prior successful teaching and administrative experience * be able to take on a range of teaching and supervisory responsibilities * be able to take a role in student tutorial support * have some experience in the area of pastoral care The successful candidate will have: * qualifications required for post: Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline * experience required for post: Language-teaching to non-first language speakers * overall purpose of post: To provide teaching and assessment as required in the Spanish language subject area.
