Language Instructor in Japanese 31,866 to 34,804 pro rata Part Time, Fixed Term - Academic We are seeking to appoint a 0.6fte language instructor in Japanese language, effective form September 1st, 2020 for 9 months. The successful candidate will join a closely-knit team, each of whom is active in his/her own discipline, and will be expected to teach across a range of modules including the first year Japanese language course in reading and writing. Applicants should have demonstrated academic excellence in the area of language teaching. Teaching experience at university (undergraduate degree) level is essential. We are a small team and require someone who has a broad understanding of the Japanese field alongside specific areas of expertise. Essential: The successful candidate will * have native or near-native command of the Japanese language * have prior successful teaching and administrative experience * be able to take on a range of teaching and supervisory responsibilities * be able to take a role in student tutorial support * have some experience in the area of pastoral care.
