Assala Energy is a young and dynamic Oil and Gas Exploration and Production company with an exciting operated asset base in Gabon, firm core values and a keen sense of responsibility to our employees and stakeholders. Our business has undergone tremendous growth in the past couple of years, and as a result, we are now seeking to identify and attract a IT Infrastructure and CyberSecurity Manager who will be assuming responsibility for Assala's global infrastructure and security estate. The infrastructure remit includes servers and services, storage, data centre, LAN and WAN, a wide range of communications technologies (including satellite, radio and pager). Security includes leading on the IT risk register, and ownership of Assala's IT risk and security responsibilities. Your creative input is expected when participating in design, CAB, operations, and other activities. We seek an individual who is motivated by excellence, elegant design, systems resilience, thoroughness, diligent transformation delivery, and operational effectiveness. With support from Assala Energy Head of IT you will promote a performance culture and ensure the development of the right resources in a global context. RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations, and more. * Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions. * Define hardware and software standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders. * Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure. * Test server performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining server infrastructure. * Manage operational costs; conduct near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base. * Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organisation's executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities. * Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation. * Direct and administrate a contingent of network analysts and technicians, and where necessary, conduct performance reviews and corrective action. * Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure and security capability, function and capacity meets existing and future requirements. * Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project management. * Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the executive team. * Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts. * Establish service level agreements in liaison with IT Service Management. * Monitor IT spend within remit. * Help manage relevant contracts alongside the Head of IT, and Finance and Supply Chain functions. * Manage external suppliers and contractors, and ensure value for money for externally sourced IT services. * Ensure compliance of IT operations. * Collaborate closely with Global IT teams to implement Global processes, standards, solutions and services. * Where global IT processes, standards, solutions and services do not exist, support the needs, aim to implement these so that they are re-usable and scalable. * Influence global IT initiatives, and support and drive global initiatives where appropriate. Requirements * Recognised qualifications in Microsoft technologies (especially Windows servers and Office365), networking (especially Cisco), networking and communications, and Cybersecurity. * Substantive experience in Microsoft technologies (especially Windows servers and Office365), networking (especially Cisco), networking and communications, and Cybersecurity. * Proven track record of execution excellence & delivering IT results in diverse and challenging physical environments, especially with infrastructure and operational telecom. * Result-oriented and pragmatic IT specialist able to propose solutions to variety of challenges. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills with French language skills being a clear advantage * Good organizational skills to complete assignments with varying degrees of complexity, dealing well with pressure and tight deadlines. * High quality standards and a sense of urgency will be extremely beneficial. * Uncompromising on HSSE, ethics & compliance.
