Job Description Have you ever picked up a prescription for a senior or taken them to a GP appointment? Have you ever helped an older adult around the house or paying bills? Do you provide emotional support for the older generation? If you have answered yes to any of these questions then you are a CAREGiver. CAREGiving is anything you do that enhances the quality of life for seniors and helps them to remain independent and ultimately in their own homes. Our visits with the clients are 1 hour or longer to ensure that the older person is not rushed and giving you as the CAREGiver time to build a relationship and rapport. If you are an individual who cares for a loved one 24/7, it's probably not difficult to see yourself as a CAREGiver for an elderly person. CAREGiving encompasses many of the following activities and more including: Light House Keeping Personal Care Companionship Running Errands Engaging in hobbies, activities and social interests. Qualifications * Drivers only required as out Client's can live in remote and rural locations, they may need assistance to appointments or to maintain a hobby / interest * Caring and Empathic nature * Able to use own initiative * Good working commitment * Ability to work alternate weekends, both Saturday and Sunday and some evenings if required You do not need any experience or particular qualifications to become a CAREGiver. However, it would be useful to have some experience of working in a care setting or interacting with older people. This could be personal experience of caring for a family member or voluntary experience. You will have a passion for supporting others and pride yourself on delivering an outstanding service. You will be reliable, trustworthy and respectful. You will enjoy building professional relationships and will be comfortable in spending time in the company of others.
