Job Description

A vacancy has arisen within the Diabetes Specialist Nursing Team for an experienced diabetes specialist nurse, to support diabetes care for both inpatients and outpatients who present a variety of complex health needs. All aspects of diabetes care are covered by our service including, but not limited to, newly diagnosed patients, diabetes emergencies, insulin starts, insulin pumps and glucose monitoring systems, ante-natal, renal and foot health clinics. You will be expected to have good recent experience that will enable you to undertake clinics for both new and follow up patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, rapid access diabetes clinics, inpatient diabetes reviews, take part in structured education programmes and work within a MDT and encourage ongoing service development for the future of Diabetes care. Teaching to both patients and other staff is expected.
