In this role you'll be... reporting to the Product Division Director and working on challenges of a diverse scope in a cross-functional environment. You'll have an opportunity to... Lead the Systems Engineering for Markem-Imaje's Thermal Transfer (TT) based products. Along with the Chief Technologist, you will help design and integrate the technology modules required to achieve best-in-class TT printers. You should possess... a positive and solution-oriented mindset and the ability to build a strong relationship with your customers Principal Activities/Duties/Responsibilities: * Work with cross-functional teams on the integration of thermal transfer print heads, ribbon drive systems, sensors, custom drivers, and firmware into innovative prototype systems * Accountable for the product design in New Product Introduction projects * Create functional specifications for all new TT products with a marketing partner * Define product architectures and module definitions * Lead the technical interdisciplinary / inter module work, defining interfaces and leading the module trade-off * Challenge module leaders regarding module performances and design justification * Manage the product specification : Cost, performances, quality, reliability * Demonstrate the product concept coverage versus the desired technical specification * Assess technical risks and lead mitigation plans * Work with the Future Product Marketing Manager and the Chief Technologist to determine research projects that support the product roadmap * Create and maintain the technical roadmap * Keep abreast of top industry trends and technology developments to ensure architecture and design decisions are in line with current and potential future developments Education and/or Experience Required: * A bachelor's degree in engineering. * 5+ years' experience in a similar position within an industrial, multicultural environment. * Experience in all elements of Systems Engineering, requirements definition through system design, integration, verification and validation. * Large technical knowledge (mechanics, plastics, used to technical prints or specifications, critical tolerances, etc.) * Experience using at least some of quality and lean tools: PPAP, Audits, Control plans, FMEA, 8Do, MSA/SPC, Ishikawa, 5S, etc. * Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and changing environment. * Strong computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, SAP is a plus. * Very good level of English is a must (both written and spoken).
