Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Acute Inpatient Psychiatry North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare Trust is a great place to work and has a sound future as a leading provider of excellent services. In recent months we have restructured our services to embed and drive forward an integrated, locality based model of care providing a patient centred provision of support and treatment. We are delighted to seek applications for our Acute and Urgent Care Directorate for a Consultant Psychiatrist. You will be predominantly based at Harplands Hospital in Penkhull, Stoke-on-Trent located within close proximity to the University Hospital of North Midlands (UHNM) and Keele University Medical School with whom the Trust has close links supporting Academic Programmes, Research and Development. You will undertake Responsible Clinician responsibilities with the support of a Consultant Nurse to provide expert assessment, investigation and management of high quality person-centred treatment plans and discharge planning. You will understand and comply with and promote the requirements of relevant legal considerations within an evidence-based framework. You will also be supported by trainees and have the opportunity to participate in the supervision and support of the higher trainee programme. We have introduced the Acute Care Model of working across our adult inpatient pathway with demonstrable improvements in length staff recruitment and retention. Leading the service embracing the Trust Vision and Values, you will lead the senior team consisting of the Associate Director, Service Manager(s) and Quality Improvement Lead Nurses to drive forward the Directorate's strategy and will be responsible for ensuring that the highest standard of clinical care is delivered across the Directorate and wider Trust ensuring all targets and objectives are met in line with national and local standards. The role will consist of 10 PAs as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Acute Inpatient Psychiatry, and you will engage with the development of your Job Plan.
