Job Description
We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join us in Newcastle. This is a phenomenal role for someone who is an aspiring HR Manager as we are looking to succession plan. The ideal candidate will come from a generalist background where you'll happy to carry out more basic administrative tasks as well as the more HRBP focused tasks. You'll be working within a small HR Department which supports the Advanced Staining Reagents (ASR) Business Unit. This business unit is fast-growing and specialises in the development and commercialisation of highly innovative products with a requirement to achieve significant revenue targets. The successful candidate will provide professional HR mentorship, advice and administration ensuring there is collaboration between Human Resources and the Senior Management Team. This role will also have responsibility for locally supporting the HR function for other units with associates based in Newcastle and support in the provision of HR services for Advanced Staining Reagents associates based in Amsterdam. What the role involves: * Support the HR Manager in the provision of professional advice, mentorship and coaching to managers and associates regarding people management issues including disciplinary, appeal and grievance handling, performance management, recruitment and selection, absence management, talent management, development, reward and terms and conditions of employment in compliance with company procedure and employment legislation. * Responsible, in collaboration with the Recruitment team, for recruitment activities to ensure timely placement of qualified and capable associates whilst ensuring talent funnels are built to support future growth. This will cover the entire recruitment spectrum from gap analysis, attraction campaigns, compiling and maintaining job descriptions, liaising with recruiting bodies, application management, arranging and conducting interviews, and the delivery of feedback. * Prepare onboarding documents, schedule, and facilitate the new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an outstanding experience. * Advise line managers and process associate contractual changes (new hires, leavers, transfers, promotions, organisational changes) by preparing contractual documentation, entering data into HR systems and associate files and all associated administrative tasks and auditing for accuracy and compliance. * Responsible for onboarding/induction programs for new associates and supporting the monitoring process throughout the probationary period. * Ensure integrity of HR systems, ensure data input is accurate and compliant and production or HR Metrics which help drive decision-making and deliver HR improvements. * Generate HR reports and conduct initial data analysis through intermediate and advanced level excel functions. * Provide first-class customer service to assist associates in the resolution of routine HR matters, within their own area of expertise or by raising to the right point of contact. * Support in the creation of, updating, and implementing Company human resource policies, programs, and practices. * Leading continuous improvement using the Danaher Business Systems (DBS) practices across the HR function * Conduct research into HR Programs, policies and employment law and recommend and execute strategies or innovations where appropriate * Delivery of training programs in areas such as Performance Management, Employment Law Updates, Compliance Awareness and Manager Bootcamps * Administrative tasks to include; ordering lanyards, HR admin and ordering of flowers, etc What we need you to have: * Degree level education in Human Resources preferable * A specific Human Resources Qualification / Membership (CIPD) would be useful * Demonstrable experience of working in an HR Advisory role in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment. * Strong communication skills * High levels of initiative, self-motivation, and energy. * Highly organised with the capability to work successfully to deadlines and the ability to work independently. * Fundamental knowledge of English employment laws (Dutch or Irish as well would be beneficial) * Sound judgment with ability to balance big picture thinking and the appropriate attention to detail with a risk management focus * Ability to investigate and tackle sophisticated people problems Interested?
