Job Description
The Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust pharmacy department have an exciting opportunity for a pharmacy technician to join our procurement team. The successful applicant will oversee the daily workload of the pharmacy procurement team helping to ensure that medicines are available to help treat patients across the Trust. The post-holder will be responsible for implementing national and regional drug purchasing contracts for all relevant medicines purchased by CHFT, identifying medicines savings opportunities as well as reviewing stock holdings in the Pharmacy department on a continual basis. The post-holder will work closely with the Lead Pharmacist for operations, medicines management and procurement to CHFT respond to medicines supply problems to ensure that we are able to provide the best possible care for the patients we treat. In order to provide a high quality service to our patients and colleagues, the successful candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills with all Pharmacy Staff, suppliers/homecare providers, finance and clinical teams as well as being proactive in their work, particularly in identifying, managing and where necessary escalating specific problems to the appropriate member of staff. Excellent computer skills,attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently are key aptitudes for this post. This role includes a commitment to the departments weekend and bank holiday rotas.
