Vacancy: Weekend Maintenance Supervisor Location: Castleford Salary: £35000 Hours: Friday to Monday (Sat & Sun - 12 hours) The Role: This is a Hands-On role to manage the onsite Maintenance Team ensuring that first line response to all plant breakdowns is maintained to world class standards at all times. Ensuring that minimum shift cover levels are adhered to and maximum production uptime is achieved through correct deployment of resources. Actively monitoring unplanned breakdowns to ensure the correct first line breakdown response and plant and equipment is returned to service as quickly as possible whilst considering H&S, Costs and other external influences. Proactively monitoring Internal Planned Maintenance completion, to ensure all plant is maintained and unplanned downtime is minimised through correct and timely machine interventions. Identifying areas where external Specialist Contractors may be required and once agreed, engaging and managing contractors whilst on site to consistently high standards. They will lead the development of the site Mechanical Standards and take an active role in assisting the development of the Site Electrical Standards This person will own the Training Matrix for the Department and will ensure that Skills gaps are identified and structured plans to eliminate the deficiencies through training and development are formulated, agreed and implemented whilst minimising disruption to shift cover. Continually auditing work completed by the maintenance team to ensure that all Company Standards are known and adhered to. Actively participating in the daily production meeting, ensuring that maintenance / Equipment related issues which have occurred can be meaningfully discussed at the meeting with an initial view of cause and solution from a maintenance perspective. Then ensuring that all follow up actions agreed within the meeting or concluded following the meeting are monitored and subsequently completed and formally recorded on site systems, and communicated back to all relevant personnel. Promoting the desired culture throughout the maintenance team, leading both new and current initiatives to ensure that all customer facing interactions are positive. Taking the lead to ensure that within Engineering Stores there is an adequate stock of correct parts to enable unplanned repairs to be completed and also correct stocks for future planned maintenance interventions. You will ensure the Department regularly meets or exceeds its KPI's and where these are not met, a full understanding of why and a plan to prevent reoccurrence should be implemented. You will demonstrate success through improved plant reliability, people management and continuous improvement, whilst demonstrating adherence and improvements to PM tasks and systems Working at the Castleford site you will cover all plant and equipment on site to ensure maximum uptime and availability of the equipment in a safe way whilst minimising spend. You will demonstrate success through improved Department Safety, Increasing Equipment Availability, and demonstrable continuous improvement. Also showing an improvement in the ratio of Reactive to Proactive work tasks and systems and a decreasing Open Work Order list. Equipment Availability and ultimately OEE figures showing a realistic and consistent improvement will be a key measure of success. Managing Department spends within the Budget guidelines set, maximising internal resources and minimising External spend with contractors and suppliers is a key Measure for this role. Key responsibilities: * Manage Maintenance Engineers workloads and Work Order Lists to ensure tasks are completed on time, safely and with a minimum impact on the department budget. * Ensure Shift Cover at all times whilst continually reducing spend with external contractors * Regularly 'Walking the floor' to ensure all department tasks have been done / are in progress / planned in, and all works are done to the highest safety and good practice standards * Lead Maintenance Daily Briefings to ensure two way communications within the department. * Investigate and understand root causes for any issues in production operations and communicate findings effectively to all relevant people. * Ensure fully prepared for the Production Meetings with up to date information on tasks, and issues and proposals for remediation plans either actioned or to be agreed. * Actively develop longer term corrective actions to solve operational issues, including the use of external specialist companies for annual maintenance * Managing Contractors on site, ensuring Site Inductions are up to date and maintained, Permits are correctly completed and implemented and random contractor audits are done and logged. * Take the lead in all site Major Issues and Opportunities and develop long term corrective actions * Own and actively manage the department Training Matrix * Successfully complete technical training as identified for own development, witho
