Job Description

We're seeking a full time Consultant Radiologist, with a subspecialist interest to compliment the well- established Radiology Department here at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. Candidates with an interest in Uro-Radiology are especially welcome. We also welcome applications for those with specialist interest in Gastrointestinal/Abdominal Radiology. However, we are flexible and would not discount or discourage any interested candidates, with a view to developing their speciality interest. The successful candidate will join a well established, dynamic team of 17 Radiologists. The successful candidate will be part of a team providing General Radiology services with a specialist interest in Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology, including shared responsibility for the CT Colonography service. The GI Radiology team have an active interest in research, and are currently enrolled in a number of national Colorectal and upper GI cancer research studies. The successful candidate will actively participate in these studies, and will have the opportunity to develop the role including as local principal investigator. The Department of Clinical Radiology is a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to the provision of a modern, safe, efficient, friendly, patient-centred imaging, and interventional service for a busy medium-sized acute Trust. The Radiology Department operates using a PACS system (Sectra), and Radiology Information System (CRIS: Wellbeing), and is part of the local network including Southampton, Lymington, Portsmouth and Isle of Wight Hospitals which is a forerunner nationally in the development of cross-site networking image sharing solutions. Applicants must have FRCR or equivalent and are expected to hold, or to obtain within six months, UK Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training and entry on the Specialist Register. A fellowship in GI radiology, or other sub-speciality, is not an essential requirement. You will be expected to contribute to the on call rota which is anticipated to be 1 in 15.
