Thinking of a career in psychiatry? This is an exciting opportunity to learn acute psychiatry on an 18-bed inpatient ward. The job is well supported by a full time consultant, core trainee and foundation doctor. You will have one day per week attending ward rounds at our 7 bed rehab ward, as well as many opportunities to visit and shadow other teams to get a broad range of psychiatry experience The post is well supported and would suit a career psychiatrist on a break from training rotations or GP/General Medicine trainees wishing to gain some experience in psychiatry. The post will provide an excellent opportunity for professional development in general and old age psychiatry and offers the chance to broaden knowledge and learn new clinical skills. There is no on-call with this post but there may be the opportunity to join the out of hours full shift rota. Although this post is not recognised for training, there will be one hour of protected supervision with the supervising Consultants each week. There are also weekly journal clubs and academic meetings the post holders can attend.
