Position Summary: Prepare, develop and analyse the financial information to assist the senior management in managing the strategic and operational direction of the business. To assist in establishing and maintaining the financial policies, controls and management information systems of the business. The role will be a key player in the integration of a recent Dover acquisition into the Fairbanks finance structure Key Responsibilities: * Production of monthly management accounts * Support the month-end process and meet group reporting and delivery requirements * Provide timely and accurate financial information to the organisation including adhoc financial analysis as required * Detailed review and analysis of the financial position * Overhead review and monitoring of spend vs budget/forecast * Produce flexible and robust financial models including budgeting, forecasting and segment profitability * Provide financial support to non-finance managers * Intercompany reconciliation * Preparation of accruals and prepayments * Stock reconciliation and process improvements * Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation calculations * General Ledger review and posting * Assist in the annual statutory audit * Assist in the coordination of all the various accounting functions * Cash forecasting and weekly reporting * Working capital review and improvement * Assist in the forecasting and budget process * Balance sheet review and reconciliation, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company policies * Assist in the review, improvement and implementation of internal controls and processes * Preparation of Vat/EC sales returns as required * Assist in the improvement of the forecasting process and MI * Assist in the improvement and streamlining of finance activities for the new combined structure * Ad-hoc projects Candidate Experience and Qualification: Candidates would be expected to have a minimum of 3 years' experience and be either part qualified, PQE or qualified accountant. The ideal candidate will be self-starter with a proven track record of identifying and implementing efficiency improvements with the ability to deliver high quality work within strict reporting deadlines, alongside a wide and varied experience across accounting functions. * Proven track record of meeting challenging deadlines * Results oriented, focused on achieving measurable benefits for the company * Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy * Ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and develop enhanced internal controls * Have a passion for continuous improvement * Innovative and proactive approach to problem solving * Ability to demonstrate capability of influencing stakeholders particularly budget managers * High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance * Ability to encourage and coach others to grow their capabilities * Experience in Vat/EC sales * Strong technical accounting ability * Experience in budgeting/forecasting * Advanced excel skills, the candidate should consider themselves an excel guru with current experience of utilising advanced excel functionality Desirable * Knowledge of Sage200 and Oracle Essential Functions: * Ability to sit for extended periods of time (long international flights) * Ability to work in excess of 8 hours per day * Ability to effectively/clearly communicate * The ability to perform the essential functions is a requirement of the job.
