Job Description

Stockton Hall Hospital (Priory Group) is an independent Mental Health Hospital on the outskirts of York providing specialist healthcare to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (MHA) At Stockton Hall, we are well-known for producing positive clinical outcomes for highly complex patients. We provide a medium-secure care setting in which patients access a broad range of therapeutic interventions including one-to-one and group-based psychological treatment. Our service has produced excellent recovery results for patients, maximising their opportunity to progress to conditions of lower-security as safely and efficiently as possible. The facility is split across seven wards as follows: 16 bedded female ward - Mental Health and Personality Disorder 16 bedded male ward - Personality Disorder 8 bedded elderly male ward - for those with a settled in presentation in need of rehabilitation for mental illness and/or personality disorders Two 24 bedded male wards for mental health focus Stockton Hall Hospital (Priory Group) are looking for a passionate and dynamic Practice Nurse to support the physical healthcare needs of patients detained in our medium secure mental health hospital. The role includes working as part of a wider MDT to ensure the complex needs of our patients are met. You should have experience of working as a practice nurse in a GP practice, have the ability to work independently and alongside GP, consultants and Mental Health Teams. The primary aim is to idenitify acute health conditions, manage Long Term conditions, Public Health screening programmes and respond to the wider health promotion activities to reduce health inequalities.
