Job Description
We are working with a UK leading specialist manufacturer looking to recruit a Buyer who will purchase goods, materials and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met and continuity of supply within the business, in support of the Supply Chain Manager. The role: * Goods delivered on time, to project specification and within budget * Negotiate contracts to improve prices and terms of business with suppliers * Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships keeping good communication * Use procurement systems to issue orders and record any agreed changes * Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues * Complete Purchasing reports as requested and update internal pricing spreadsheets The candidate: * Experience in a buying team preferably within construction or manufacturing (aerospace/automotive) * Studying towards CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or similar qualification (desirable) * Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills * Competent with Excel and procurement systems * Ability to read technical drawings
