Senior Network Design Engineer Manchester or Glasgow Permanent Full-Time; Shift Rotation About the Role Our client is looking for a Senior Network Design Engineer to join the Voice & Data Services Delivery Team; they are the team responsible for the IP network design of their core products and services and they are looking for a passionate, driven engineer who understands network design with a focus on customer experience. They are going through a period of unprecedented growth and the successful candidate will be designing and developing the infrastructure that underpins their voice and data access platforms, including Cisco Nexus datacentre infrastructure, Juniper MX router hardware and Fortigate firewalls along with their new Openstack private cloud. They have begun a strategic five-year programme to deliver new unified communications capabilities to our customers, you will be working on the development of the underpinning network platforms and the remediation and migration of products and services from the legacy platforms. About You * You'll have excellent experience with Juniper, Cisco Nexus & Catalyst Platforms and next generation firewall deployments. * You'll have previous experience automating repetitive tasks and an understanding of Python, NAPALM, ROBOT Frameworks etc. * You'll have previous experience from a telecommunications environment alongside an excellent understanding of how it functions. * You'll have experience in leading project delivery functions whilst also acting as a best practice champion. * You'll be comfortable working effectively and accurately when working to multiple competing deadlines. * You'll have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with a flair for articulating your thinking. * You'll be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, working across multiple projects simultaneously. * You'll be a team player; you strive for a harmonious work environment and are a champion of collaborative working.
