Job Description
**THE ROLE** As part of the Europe and Global Segments Finance team you will be responsible for strategically driving and collaborating effectively all commercial finance strategies across the new Europe and global Segments Business (EGS) leading the financial delivery of key business and strategic initiatives at a senior level in the organisation. This new role is viewed as critical in ensuring the growth forecasts and cost containment initiatives across the EGS are met, hence the investment in creating this unique and senior role within the FP & A team reporting to the FP&A Senior Director who is part of the Finance leadership team within EGS This highly visible role to the SLT of EGS, IM SLT and USA Enterprise Finance SLT is crucial to the continued growth of the organisation as it provides vital leadership to ensure that we meet and exceed financial goals through embedding the right culture, governance and financial support throughout the business. **Responsibilities** + Take the lead role in partnering with the senior stakeholders at SLT level to drive financial support in decision making focused on strategic growth initiatives and critical project deliveries + Actively drive and lead strategic project direction from a commercial focus, developing a deep understanding of customers need and developing strategies for how the business can deliver solutions for them + Provide direction to shared service functions and centers of excellence to ensure financial plans and strategies are aligned globally to EGS goals. Take an active role in setting and monitoring delivery of strategies across all shared services. + Own business growth initiatives from ideas generation through to delivery. Lead and develop a framework for market/opportunity analysis, drive cross functional teams to support strategy build and monitor delivery ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken if required to achieve strategic goals. + Provide expert insights, support and direction to senior business teams to demonstrate how actions will impact short and long term objectives. Develop and implement a robust forecasting and results tracking framework taking ownership of delivery of revenue and earnings growth across the business. + Improve the understanding of financial implications of decision making at SLT and senior level in the business embedding financial process and governance throughout all functions within EGS + Develop a deep understanding of the key financial drivers ensuring commercially favourable of results and provide timely and strategic updates on financial results and strategic deliverables to the EGS SLT and IM management team + Take ownership of the 5 year strategy financials process partnering with the strategy team and ensuring alignment with long term international markets and EGS strategy + Prepare and lead financial aspects of the annual strategic and operating plans and quarterly forecasting process + Robustly build financial business cases to support new and ongoing projects at an EGS level and lead EGS input into global business cases ensuring favourable commercial gain is achieved + Lead special initiatives as required to support business unit goals. Conduct research on assigned projects/issues, identify course of action and make recommendations and execute as appropriate **YOUR PROFILE** **Qualifications** + Accountancy Qualification and or Bachelor Degree preferred as well as demonstrable evidence of continuing professional development **Skills and** **Competencies** + Demonstrated strong leadership and influencing skills + Strategic agility, influence management, analytical skills and matrix management skills. + Exceptional communication, team management and people leadership skills + Extensive business and financial management experience in a multi-country role preferred. + Proven track record of successfully collaborating across multi-functional and cross geographic teams + Professional written and communication skills at executive level + Highly motivated and driven professional, able to manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously + Strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills + Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and proactively with internal and external partners. + Ability to drive and achieve results at all levels of the organization + Strong compliance to company values & ethics + Extensive relevant work experience preferably with experience of working in financial services sector at a senior level **About Cigna** Cigna Corporation (NYSE: CI) is a global health service company dedicated to improving the health, well-being and peace of mind of those we serve.
