Thurrock Young People and family substance misuse service - Wize Up Young Person's Service are a specialist support service for young people primarily aged 18 and under in relation to substance use. An exciting vacancy has arisen to join the innovative Young People's team Wize Up in Thurrock. The role of Children and Families Worker - Hidden Harm. The primary focus of this role is to work with children and young people who are impacted by a family member's substance misuse by delivering a programme of interventions via one to one sessions with the aim of building resilience and minimising the impact of parental substance misuse. The role also includes developing and delivering group work packages, providing brief support and advice to parents, carers and partner agencies as well as delivering specialist training to professionals. In order to undertake the role, the successful applicant will possess excellent engagement skills alongside the ability to work in partnership with other services. The candidate will have experience and knowledge of working with children and young people and an understanding of issues facing those affected by someone else's drug and alcohol use. This role will also require the successful candidate to have a good working Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding concerns in relation to children and young people.
