Job Description
Manage a Team dealing with specialist cases A London based Local Authority is seeking an experienced manager to join one of their community based teams which work on Child in Need, Child Protection cases which have elements of Domestic Abuse, Parental Mental Health and Substance Misuse: Highlights: * Dedicated Management role. * Social Workers deal with DV, Mental Health and Substance Misuse * Social Workers will also be dealing with some cases which have CSE and Gang issues * Small teams - will be managing 4-5 staff * Local Authority has received Good in its last Ofsted with some Outstanding qualities. * Caseloads are low for the region, with 2-3 cases going through courts per Social Worker * Will be given equipment to work flexibly and from home * Relationship based practice This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced candidate to take lead of an established Social Work team that is community based and has a particular focus on the themes noted above (DV, Parental Mental Health & Substance Misuse). The teams are relatively small and consist of 4-5 staff including business support and there is an emphasis on promoting relationship based practice, where staff are encouraged to develop relationships with service users so they are better able to understand situations and guide intervention. Furthermore the staff within the service have easy access and good levels of working synergy with other statutory and voluntary organisations who are able to provide support on cases and ultimately work to reduce workloads on staff. In its most recent Ofsted the Local Authority had achieved a Good rating with elements of Outstanding which reflects the working practice. furthermore staff across services have reported good level of job satisfaction within internal audits feeling that they are supported and have access to training to help develop their career further. Indeed, with this post you will have access to training modules which can accumulate to provide a MSc or further qualifications. To be considered for this post you should ideally have management experience within a front line Social Work team.
