Job Description

What you need to know about the role As our Export Sales Bid and Office Manager you will be the key contact when it comes to setting up and managing all internal aspects of the export bid and order management processes for our UK Rail business. Previously export sales and order management were undertaken by our sister company in France but due to recent changes, the business needs to define, implement and manage this process from the UK. You will work to coordinate the tender process for export offers, initially generating offers in conjunction with the account, technical, logistics and finance teams. In addition, tenders may require the submission of bid and performance bonds and letters of credits. You will liaise with treasury department to raise these bonds and to vet and agree the terms of the Letters of Credit with assistance from finance and the commercial team. The wide spectrum of track and traffic conditions found in the modern railway environment is matched by our comprehensive range of steel rail products. By working in partnership with our customers we can ensure that our products fulfil the demands of the international railway industry. What we need to know about you This role is a great opportunity for someone who has experience working with major, long term high value infrastructure projects. You should be numerate with a strong business acumen and good interpersonal skills with a proven record in preparing tenders and managing letters of credit. You need to be able to demonstrate an ability to develop and manage the preparation and submission of high value bids, identify key risks and also to successfully negotiate the terms of letters of credit and manage the documentary process to secure payment. We're looking for a confident, enthusiastic professional who has the drive to build and manager a small customer focussed team. The ability to speak one or more foreign languages, particularly French and/or Italian would be beneficial.
