You will form part of a very busy and diverse Importing and Exporting Team to provide the day-to-day hands on management of importing, exporting and subsequent distribution of parts in support of Boeing Defence UK (BDUK), fixed wing and rotorcraft programmes and contracts. Responsible to the Warehousing & Distribution Manager. Specific Scope of the Role: Import/Export Focal: Act as one of the Import/Export focal in support of a Boeing's various fixed wing and rotorcraft programmes. Ensure all imports & Export documentation and processes are fully compliant with current legislation and regulations at all times, whilst ensuring they are ready for audit by the Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (HMRC) / Boeing Global Trade Control (GTC), as required. Effectively manage and ensure first time quality when issuing, receipting and dispatching of all goods to/from any of the BDUK managed warehouses and distribution facilities. Assists with and perform international freight transactions in accordance with Boeing GTC, HMRC and all applicable regulatory agency / authorities guidelines. Preparing documentation to support routing and logistics functional requirements both for domestic and international freight transactions. Liaise with Boeing GTC to ensure all import and export licenses and all associated approvals are in date and correctly aligned to the very latest legislation. On a monthly basis complete the customs & deferment report supplied by the appropriate Ministry of Defence (MoD) platform teams or as requested by GTC. Manage and monitor entries to ensure they are fully complete and 100% accuracy of records for presentation at audit. Manage and monitor the transparency reports in support of export licenses, ensuring all documentation is fully prepared and compliant for audit as required. Create and manage import / export registers ensuring all details are correctly input to ensure full compliance and traceability of all goods in support of Inward Processing (IP), reporting requirements. Work with GTC to implement a full proof process and reporting structure to ensure the identification of all imported goods under our IP agreements are fully discharged to the correct aircraft within the agreed timescales. Support the development of metrics to monitor the burn down rate of imported goods against our IP are being correctly discharged to the relevant aircraft in a timely manner. Collect and analyses data and information from multiple sources in support of transportation and logistics business initiatives. Ensure parts are fully discharged to free circulation and all relevant duty and VAT liability are authorised for payment as required. Support and prepare goods and documentation for any assets / goods required to be exported on a temporary or on a permanent, ensuring any duty or value added tax (VAT), liabilities are fully reported and closed out. Support the Supply Chain management team to plan and implement any changes to import or export legislation to ensure full compliance. Assists with a variety of support services including freight bill audit and related activities, contracts management and negotiations team functions, prepares and assists with documentation and certification of shipments of dangerous goods and support to compliance initiatives. Applying knowledge of logistics and transportation methodologies in support of organizational objectives. General Scope of Role Effectively manage and ensure first time quality when issuing, receipting and dispatching of all goods to / from the managed warehouses. Check and inspect all goods received for damage or deficiencies, documenting / quarantine any discrepancies found as per laid down processes. Correctly pack and unpack equipment ready for transportation or put away to required standards. Ensure all transactions are correctly posted onto the warehouse management system (Warehouse on Web (WoW)), whilst maintaining a record of auditable vouchers. As required maintain training levels and hold a valid license to safely operate warehouse mechanical handling equipment (MHE) - Reach and Counter-balance Fork Lift. Adopt good housekeeping techniques to ensure all warehouse areas are clean, tidy and safe at all times. As required and in course of your duties arrange transport with Boeing's contracted transport providers to collect and deliver assets in support of warehousing & distribution activities. Adopt Boeing best business practices to identify continuous improvement opportunities that contribute to efficiency savings and benefits through participation in employee involvement (EI) and cost reduction initiatives (CRI).
