RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS HOW YOU WILL FULFIL YOUR POTENTIAL The role will involve acting as a key asset management lawyer within the GSAM legal team with responsibility for a range of work covering GSAM's core businesses and operations including establishing, managing and distributing investment funds, including US registered 1940 act mutual funds, UCITS, alternatives, private equity and money market funds and separate account business which includes negotiation of investment management agreements and related documentation. In addition, and given the fundamental developments in the market and in regulations worldwide applicable to GSAM's business and the markets that it operates in, a key component of the role will also include contributing to the analysis of and formulation of strategic responses to, the shifting legal and regulatory framework, particularly in respect of the ongoing development of GSAM's growing US and international funds business. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR - Strong academic record with Bachelor's degree, equivalent or above required- Must be a US qualified lawyer with significant commercial experience gained from working within investment banking/financial services industry- Strong exposure to and knowledge of asset management sector and US registered 1940 act mutual funds required- Experience of advising on securities laws matters- Experience of negotiating/ drafting contracts with subadvisors, service providers and distribution partners required- Experience with review of marketing materials and preparing documentation and memoranda- Project management skills with experience of implementing business and regulatory changes- Experience of identifying and addressing legal regulatory issues- Team player with the ability to be pro-active in a challenging business environment, whilst adhering to firm policies and group practices- Personable and confident with ability to interact well directly with the business team and to take on responsibility for key business relationships as well as legal colleagues in other global offices ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS At Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
