ABOUT CPI With deep expertise in finance and policy, Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) is an analysis and advisory organization that works to improve the most important energy and land use practices around the world. Our mission is to help governments, businesses, and financial institutions drive economic growth while addressing climate change. CPI has six offices around the world in Brazil, India, Indonesia, Kenya, the United Kingdom, and the United States. ABOUT THE ALLIANCE Trillions of dollars will be required to help cities build the low-emissions, resilient infrastructure necessary to combat and react to climate change. The Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance ("Alliance") is a coalition of leaders committed to deploying finance for city-level climate action at scale by 2030. It is the only multi-level and multi-stakeholder coalition aimed at closing the investment gap for urban subnational climate projects and infrastructure worldwide. The Alliance supports collaboration among its members across four main outcomes: * Building awareness of city finance needs and opportunities * Identifying existing solutions and gaps in city-level climate-related finance * Supporting new investment solutions that fill crucial gaps in cities climate finance * Crafting a strong global architecture to support measurement and evaluation CPI has recently assumed the role of the Secretariat for the Alliance. In partnership with the Alliance's members, CPI will help set and implement a strategy that will support the Alliance in meeting its ambitions in scaling climate finance for cities. The Steering Committee of the Alliance has also recently approved its role as host for the Leadership for Urban Climate Investment (LUCI) initiative. LUCI was launched in 2019 during the United Nations Secretary-General Climate Action Summit and seeks to strengthen the capacity of 2000 cities in project preparation, creating 1000 bankable climate-smart urban projects by 2030 while building new, innovative financing mechanisms. POSITION SUMMARY CPI is seeking a dynamic, highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Project Coordinator to join our team for a fixed term 10-month contract (through April 30, 2021). As Project Coordinator, you will support the Alliance's Secretariat in coordinating LUCI and with day-to-day operational activities. You will work in close cooperation with a range of national and international partners from the policy, finance, and corporate spheres, as well as with CPI teams throughout the world. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to build their career in the international development and/or climate finance arena. Day-to-day tasks will include a range of activities from: * Planning and executing external engagement with the Leadership for Urban Climate Investment (LUCI) initiatives and interested potential partners, including outreach and events. * Tracking progress of initiatives and contributing to analysis supporting LUCI's objectives. * Assisting and performing grant reporting and general operational activities of the Secretariat. * Contributing to Alliance management activities and action groups. Ultimately, you will play a crucial role in helping CPI both shape and execute the Alliance and LUCI as a high-impact and highly relevant initiative. The position reports to the Alliance Project Manager. CPI is currently operating a remote workforce in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and will remain as such until further notice. The successful applicant will need to be able to work remotely until the London office reopens. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under the direction of and in support of the Alliance Project Manager, execute the following tasks and others as assigned: * As the point person for LUCI, support the Project Manager in planning and implementing the Alliance role as host of LUCI, including partnership engagement, tracking of progress, and grant reporting. * Coordinate timelines and workplans * Schedule and contribute to webinars, calls, and meetings with members as well as external organizations, including preparing and circulating agendas, taking minutes and following up on actions arising * Draft and edit internal and external written products including emails, memos, meeting and event summaries, press releases, PowerPoint presentations, newsletters, and website content * Fulfil reporting requirements to the program's funders as well as impact reporting * Coordinate and organize external engagement events with Alliance members and stakeholders * Draft grant proposals for expanded Alliance work * Contribute to high-quality Alliance analytical products, including policy briefs, reports, and statements * Communicate and collaborate with CPI staff working around the globe, including analysts, operations, and communications team members QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE * 2-3 years of professional experience, ideally in an international setting * Demonstrated experience manag
